inventory drop can be major or minor. Seems with super high inventories a small drop ain't putting a drop in the bucket...

Where's the story? If it's about the price of oil, just blame it on anything. There's no rhyme or reason to any of it.

Supply, demand, future expectations, political expectations, war premium, peace dividend; all add to volatility, giving traders their ability to profit as middlemen.

The whole article is missing.
Based on the comments others have made this is just the same old story of specu-traitors doing what they know, gouge corrupt the market and manipulate the economy. And, our government allows them to do this!

The fact remains we don't have much control over the price of gas at the pump.

Ignorance is bliss. But the ignorant manner in which supporters of the energy industry have demonstrated borders on criminality. These repugnant A$$ holes all deserve to be sent to prison.

I cannot begin to understand how and why traders are allowed to abuse the commodities markets. How is it helpful other than line companies traders pockets to allow thousands more contracted to be traded over and over than the actual number of contracts delivered. This has to change!

I would say that the price of fuel here in Alberta went up today. I would say that fuel is way to high in regards to oil prices.

Why are oil prices rising anyway? The "summer driving season" is officially over. Oil prices are back up over $76/barrel today again. WHY???

In stead of tell us the economy is improving, tell us the oil & gas inventories are higher than they are to get the price to drop.

the inventory level is still way too high ... if people (investors, speculators, traders) have been overlooking inventory increases, well, no reason to be surprised by overlooking inventory decrease for just one time

Pure noise in the market.

Nothing like the efficient market hypothesis, you University of Chicago economists. Explain this in under 5000 words, and I suggest you consider the use of the phrase "price fixing."

They appear to also be ignoring the fact that demand has been low all year, and that the summer driving season is over, lowering the demand even more. Just checked, and oil is up $1.10 to 75.24, when it should actually be dropping substantially at this time.

The government report "showed crude stocks unexpectedly fell last week." "Traders also noted total U.S. crude oil and products stocks remained at high levels," Traders, as most people, probably know more than the government.
